We highly recommend that your telecom professional install all equipment related to your telephone system.

How much does it cost?

Consult with your telecom provider to find out what they recommend for your system. They will provide pricing for the appropriate equipment and production type to meet your needs.

How often should we change our messages?

For most businesses two changes per year are ideal. It keeps the messages refreshed and provides flexibility for adding any new content. If your business experiences seasonal changes or trends, additional changes may be a good idea. If you are going to announce limited time engagements, or promote upcoming events you should plan to update your messages with new content to replace out-of-date messages. Ask your telecom dealer about multiple production discounts.

How long is each production?

Your production will be 3 1/2 - 4 minutes in total length and have 5-6 messages that play in a continual rotation.

How long will it take to finish my production?

Script writing takes 2-5 business days. Voicing & editing an additional 1-4 business days. In many cases your production can be ready in about a week.

Can I use music that is more recognizable?

Major label artists have agreements with music licensing companies such as ASCAP or BMI.

The music in our production library has been specifically selected to provide a range of styles while appealing to the widest audience and will complement your production without being distracting to your message. Just like music scores used in film, background music for your production should be selected based on the mood you want to create for your caller rather tha
n on personal tastes.

What about using a radio on hold?

Using a radio on hold is considered a public performance. To be lawful a public performance must be licensed. Besides, for most businesses, playing a radio on hold full of commercials, traffic reports and annoying DJ's is less than appealing.

Can we just use a regular CD/MP3 player?

Commercially available audio players are not designed for continuous play use. When played continuously many players will overheat which can dramatically decrease the units life. Shutdowns due to overheating and power failures will leave your callers in silence, unless someone manually restarts it on a regular basis. Plus, to be lawful you are required to obtain proper music licensing to comply with federal & international copyright laws.

The digital equipment provided by ComSource Audio is specifically designed
as a continuous play audio source for message on hold use. Even with a loss of power The ComSource player will continue to play automatically once power is restored.
